…LINE OF STRONG STORMS APPROACHING THE NORTHEASTERN BLUEGRASS AREA…

AT 759 AM EDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 14 MILES SOUTH OF WILLIAMSTOWN TO GEORGETOWN TO 8 MILES SOUTHEAST OF LEXINGTON…AND MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE JUST ABOUT TO CROSS INTO THE WESTERN PORTIONS OF HARRISON AND BOURBON COUNTIES.

CONTINUOUS DEADLY CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING…HEAVY RAIN WITH RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF AROUND ONE INCH PER HOUR REDUCING VISIBILITIES TO LESS THAN ONE MILE…SMALL PEA OR MARBLE SIZE HAIL… AND GUSTY WINDS OF AROUND 35 TO 40 MPH… ARE EXPECTED WITH THESE STORMS.

THESE STORMS WILL BE… NEAR WINCHESTER BY 815 AM EDT. NEAR CARLISLE BY 835 AM EDT.

THIS STORM WILL AFFECT INTERSTATE 64 IN KENTUCKY BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 94 AND 98.

FREQUENT LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. MOVE INDOORS IF POSSIBLE. STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS AND DOORS…AND AVOID USING THE TELEPHONE UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY.

IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THESE STORMS…SEEK SHELTER INDOORS AND STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
