Once again, the FNB branch on Oddville was robbed. This is now the second time that the Oddville location has been robbed in less than six months.
As of the time of this posting, the Cynthiana Democrat reports:
Police were dispatched to the bank just after 10 a.m. Monday and the Cynthiana Police Department has confirmed a robbery took place.
Ptl. Scott Loechel said a white male in his 30s went into the bank, jumped over the counter and emptied the drawers. This was the same method employed in the Feb. 25 robbery at that branch.
The suspect is still at large and is described as wearing a camouflage ball cap, a navy blue shirt, khaki shorts and silver and white gym shoes. He is about six feet or six feet, one inch in height.
All Harrison County Schools were placed on lock down because the alleged robber fled the scene on foot, according to assistant superintendent Dee Gee Fischer.
WKYT is reporting that police believe the suspect may be Jeffrey Pratt, based upon witness description. According to the last report I saw on television the surveillance videos have not been released to the police for viewing (something to do with the archaic nature of the surveillance system). Pratt is currently wanted for escaping custody of a Robertson County Transportation Officer
Pratt is also suspected of robberies of other banks in the area, including the Farmers National Bank in Berry, KY, and Integra Bank in Mt. Olivet. According to an article published last week in the Cynthiana Democrat, Pratt may be suspect of a robbery which took place in Falmouth, KY, approximately two weeks ago; however, Kentucky State Police were reluctant to name any suspects. The Harrison County Sherriff’s Department gave their opinion after reviewing the video from Falmouth that the suspect in that case may in fact be Pratt, based upon body structure and body language.
Excerpt from Cynthiana Democrat included because of issues related to the site’s poor linking and archivalĀ system. On numerous occasions I have found stories disappear or be overwritten at later dates. Donald Richie was reporting for the Cynthiana Democrat.
Update: So, they caught Pratt in Lexington. He was trying to buy a car at a small lot, not too far from where he was staying. Not the brightest move, but, then again, I guess it’s to be expected. Link above to the WKYT story has the new details.
