Cofflubreak & a Dead Commission

This morning, on WCYN’s Coffeebreak with Rick Chasteen…
Guests were Crystal Caudill & Spencer Cathey of WEDCO. Topics of discussion bounced from finances, civic activities, community health, and so on.
One point of discussion which I found entertaining revolved around influenza. Rick had noted that it had seemed that there hadn’t been much news on the flu this year, and that it seemed that within recent weeks word of flu related illness had increased. Crystal advised that the local Health Department still has enough vaccinations in their stockpile for anyone interested in receiving a flu shot.
The reason why this point caught my attention goes back to three days ago. On Monday afternoon my mother came over, and we spoke on a number of things. At one point, our conversation turned to the flu. My part of that exchange was primarily sharing audio from a recent episode of No Agenda, where Adam informed John of a story ran by Reuters which listed a drug which have been proven ineffective in battling this year’s strain of the flu. (see No Agenda podcast, episode 62, time 48minutes 44seconds)

I had been wanting to share the Reuters story and No Agenda discussion for some time, but hadn’t found an interesting way to blog it until this morning. Thank you, Rick.
…and on tomorrow’s Coffeebreak…
Rick plans to open the phones and air-waves to discussion of our new Cynthiana City Commission, and how in the very first meeting–a special meeting on selection of a Mayor Pro Tem–ground to a hault.
Dontcha just love small town politics?
