An upper level disturbance, moving from Iowa to Illinois this morning, will move into Indiana this afternoon. Combining this disturbance with a very moist atmosphere will result in severe thunderstorm development. The main threats today will be damaging winds, torrential rainfall, and isolated tornadoes. Large hail and frequent to excessive lightning will be secondary threats. The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK has placed the area under a slight risk for severe weather. The graphics below were produced there and show the relative risks for damaging winds, tornadoes, and large hail.
