THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM EST /9 PM CST/
THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST /12 PM CST/ SUNDAY.
SNOW SHOWERS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS SOUTHERN INDIANA AROUND MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT AND SPREAD SOUTHWARD IN THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. 2 TO 3 INCHES
OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE NORTH OF THE OHIO RIVER…WITH 1 TO 2
INCHES OF SNOW POSSIBLE SOUTH OF THE RIVER…MAINLY ALONG AND
NORTH OF INTERSTATE 64. SNOWFALL WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MID TO LATE
MORNING.
RAPIDLY FALLING TEMPERATURES BEFORE SNOW BEGINS WILL RESULT IN SNOWFALL
ACCUMULATING ON TOP OF ICY ROAD SURFACES…RESULTING IN DANGEROUS
TRAVEL CONDITIONS.
IN ADDITION TO SNOW AND ICY ROADS…STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO 35
MPH WITH GUSTS OVER 40 MPH WILL DEVELOP BY EARLY SUNDAY. THESE
WINDS WILL CAUSE BLOWING SNOW…SIGNIFICANT REDUCING VISIBILITIES
AT TIMES.
CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE RAPIDLY. MOTORISTS SHOULD USE CAUTION
AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH THEIR DESTINATION.
