A storm system will develop over the southern Plains today and move through the Ohio Valley tonight and Friday. The latest data suggest that an Arctic airmass will get reinforced today and remain in place across the region through the end of the week. With that said, the developing weather system is expected to track along the southern edge of the Arctic airmass. This will bring a light wintry mix to the region after midnight tonight and continuing into Friday. The most significant precipitation will occur during the morning hours Friday and then taper off from west to east in the afternoon.
