.AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT PROGRESSED SOUTH OF THE AREA EARLIER TODAY.
MEANWHILE COLD AIR AT THE SURFACE WILL CONTINUE TO FILTER INTO
THE REGION BEHIND THE FRONT. SEVERAL MOISTURE-RICH DISTURBANCES
WILL THEN RIDE NORTHEAST ALONG THE BOUNDARY ACROSS OUR REGION
THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT. THIS WILL BRING A COMPLEX AND MESSY PERIOD
OF WEATHER WITH SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW...SLEET...AND
FREEZING RAIN POSSIBLE...WHICH IS VERY DEPENDENT ON LOCATION. THE
TRANSITION WILL OCCUR INITIALLY ACROSS SOUTHERN INDIANA AND MAKE
IT TO AROUND THE OHIO RIVER OVERNIGHT. THE TRANSITION WILL THEN
SLIDE SOUTHEAST TO CENTRAL KENTUCKY THROUGH THE DAY ON FRIDAY. BE

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST /MIDNIGHT CST/ SATURDAY. THE WINTER STORM
WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* TIMING: THE INITIAL CHANGE OVER TO A WINTRY MIX LOOKS TO OCCUR
AROUND OR JUST AFTER DAYBREAK ALONG AN ELIZABETHTOWN TO
FRANKFORT LINE.
* MAIN IMPACT: SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF ICE...SLEET AND SNOW
ARE POSSIBLE AND WILL LIKELY RESULT IN TREACHEROUS DRIVING
CONDITIONS FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT DEPENDENT ON LOCATION. SOME
ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES WILL BE POSSIBLE...WHERE FREEZING RAIN IS
MOST PREVALENT...WHICH APPEARS TO BE ACROSS WEST CENTRAL
KENTUCKY.
* OTHER IMPACTS: TEMPERATURES WILL RAPIDLY FALL ACROSS THE
ENTIRE WARNING AREA ON FRIDAY NIGHT. ANY PRE-EXISTING WET
SURFACES COULD QUICKLY FREEZE CREATING MORE HAZARDOUS DRIVING
AND WALKING CONDITIONS.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW...
SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO
