.A DEVELOPING STORM SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO MOVE TOWARD THE REGION
LATE TONIGHT. WITH SURFACE TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO DROP JUST
BELOW FREEZING OVERNIGHT…A MIX OF FREEZING DRIZZLE AND FREEZING
RAIN IS EXPECTED ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE BLUEGRASS REGION OF
CENTRAL KENTUCKY. WHILE THE ACCUMULATION OF ICE IS LIKELY TO VERY

..FREEZING RAIN POSSIBLE TONIGHT…
AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE DEVELOPING IN THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL
TRACK NORTHEAST INTO EASTERN TENNESSEE BY THURSDAY EVENING.
MOISTURE WILL STREAM NORTH AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM…ENTERING THE
SOUTHERN PORTION OF CENTRAL KENTUCKY AFTER MIDNIGHT AND SPREADING
NORTH AND WEST OVERNIGHT. INITIALLY RAIN IS EXPECTED WITH THE
POSSIBILITY OF FREEZING RAIN IF SURFACE TEMPERATURES DROP BELOW
THE FREEZING MARK. AT THE PRESENT IT LOOKS AS IF READINGS WILL
REMAIN ABOVE THE FREEZING MARK WHICH WOULD PRODUCE MOSTLY RAIN.
HOWEVER IF THE TEMPERATURES WERE TO DROP ANOTHER DEGREE OR 2
FREEZING RAIN WOULD OCCUR. THE RAIN AND POSSIBLE FREEZING RAIN
WILL CHANGE TO LIGHT SNOW THURSDAY AFTERNOON BEFORE THE
PRECIPITATION ENDS AND COLDER AIR SINKS INTO THE REGION.
