I did not know that the location referenced to a Google Maps search!
Neat!
I think I’ll take advantage of that!

geeky discussion with Shandra
I had an interesting discussion with Shandra on Macs vs. PCs… I thought I’d share it… and if anyone sees a part where I am wrong, please tell me… I wanna know!
Jeremiah Palmer: so, how goes it in shandra-land?
Shandra Boland: it goes ok talking to Diana bout watching the kids tonight
Jeremiah Palmer: oh, well, i guess i don’t need to talk to you about that then…
Jeremiah Palmer: cups, movies, and food… gotcha
Shandra Boland: lol that’s what I was just typing
Jeremiah Palmer: i’m psychic
Shandra Boland: I am probably gonna buy another sippy cup and a couple movies and stuff but no money right now
Jeremiah Palmer: have you, like, been advised yet?
Shandra Boland: nope
Shandra Boland: lol
Shandra Boland: I did ask for a surplus check though
Shandra Boland: I want to get my laptop with it but I didn’t get as much as I wanted and Jeremy needs car insurance
Shandra Boland:
Jeremiah Palmer: awe… poor thing…
Shandra Boland: That seemed sarcastic
Jeremiah Palmer: well, d’s got one in hock… it needs an HD…
Shandra Boland: yeah you were telling me about that
Jeremiah Palmer: i think she had mentioned the idea of selling it to you… i laughed at her…
Jeremiah Palmer: if she didn’t want to get anything for it, it’d be about 300 bucks… 200 to get it back and 100 for the drive…
Shandra Boland: Well want does it have? I’m wanting at least a gig in memory and I’ve been looking at dual core processors….
Shandra Boland: what not want
Jeremiah Palmer: it ain’t that awesome…
Jeremiah Palmer: um, lemme search for it… i can’t remember what all it had…
Jeremiah Palmer: 5.28lbs, AMD Turion 64 MK-36 @ 2.0GHz, 14.1″ display, 1280 x 800 resolution, 1GB ram , 80GB HD, DL DVD±RW/RAM, b/g wireless, svid out, Vista Home Basic
Jeremiah Palmer: i think it also had an svga out, and sd/xd card reader…
Shandra Boland: eh I was wanting premium and a 15.4″ display
Shandra Boland:
Jeremiah Palmer: for that, you’d have to get mine, and i ain’t parting with it…
Shandra Boland: lol
Shandra Boland: well I wasn’t asking lol
Jeremiah Palmer: the reason d loves hers is the small display… small display, means smaller keys… she got used to that from that compaq…
Shandra Boland: ah
Jeremiah Palmer: i like the feel of the keys on a 15 inch display…
Jeremiah Palmer: but, if i had my dream notebook, i’d honestly get one of the latest macbook pros…
Jeremiah Palmer: huge freaking display… huge freaking keyboard…
Jeremiah Palmer: and they’re now intel based, so i could get a boot loader to run windows and the mac os…
Shandra Boland: sweet
Jeremiah Palmer: yeah, with the release of the intel macs, apple released a program called boot-camp which will allow for the running of PC OSes
Shandra Boland: well that’s sweet
Jeremiah Palmer: info on boot camp is at http://www.apple.com/bootcamp
Jeremiah Palmer: i’ve always loved the idea of a mac, but the prices had always been high, and it’s a windows world… switching to intel has made macs even more sexy…
Shandra Boland: I have no clue what the difference is
Jeremiah Palmer: honestly, not a whole lot… especially now… apples have run on motorola processors since they were born… they had a closed architecture until the iMac.. everything was proprietary until then… then, with the iMac, they brought in USB and Firewire and PCI… hardware was no longer proprietary… Now with the intel chips, the core languages are nearly identical… they still do things a bit differently, but their world is opening up…
Jeremiah Palmer: The Mac OS is honestly a “better” os, they’ve been doing programming in a world similar (note similar) to XP for a dozen years… similar in the sense that it is all loaded as a gui running damn near straight, rather than loading a huge program on top of another huge program (like win95 was still a windows on top of a DOS)
Shandra Boland: Aha…ok
Jeremiah Palmer: and the mac os is even better now… a few years ago, with OSX, they relied even more heavily on UNIX… so, in a sense, the Mac OS has been, for a few years now, a PC OS… Unix being a PC based OS – they just modded it to work on the motorola chipset… now, there’s no need to mod..
Shandra Boland: ok
Jeremiah Palmer: i just wish that i could have found the sources for all of this information… i would have loved to do the pc/mac thing, but could find any good sources… so, i am doing the 9/11 thing…
Jeremiah Palmer: sad, considering it sounds like i know what i am talking about…
Shandra Boland: this is true
Jeremiah Palmer: oh, i like this… something apple wrote on the boot camp page… “Windows running on a Mac is like Windows running on a PC. That means it’ll be subject to the same attacks that plague the Windows world. So be sure to keep it updated with the latest Microsoft Windows security fixes.”
Shandra Boland: huh
Shandra Boland: interesting
Shandra Boland: brb gonna get something to drink
Jeremiah Palmer: they pretty much said, “remember, windows’ security sucks”
Shandra Boland: yeah
Jeremiah Palmer: oh… here’s something to laugh at… http://youtube.com/watch?v=oc4oP_ITqMc
Jeremiah Palmer: all of the spoofs from that director are hilarious…
Shandra Boland: I’ll watch then I have to make some lunch
Shandra Boland: lmao!!!
Shandra Boland: well gotta go

My blogging habits…
After writing that paper on blogging, I have decided to clean up, and reorganize my blog… I want to attempt to better separate my personal diaries from my web-logging… I am still trying to figure out how to achieve this… I know that I’ll have to make better use of tags, and I believe that I may allow certain pics to aid in these measures….
One thing that I have done to make this silly thing easier to read and follow, is that I have changed the layout and color scheme… I find the current layout to be more pleasurable to the eye… One can now quickly scan the page, and see the content and separations of entries easier. The text is also easier to read.
This “remodeling” of my blog shall be a little bit of work, and I hope that any readers that I have (I only know of two) will be patient and understanding.
The Oracle of Bacon
So, have you heard of the Six Degrees of Separation? How about the Six Degrees of Bacon?
If you haven’t, here’s a very quick run-down. A guy (Stanley Milgram – a psychologist) came up with this theory in the 1960’s that there are ways that you can connect random people to another, through no more than five other connections. Interesting theory. Play with it… pretty fun.
Well, a few students in PA decided to apply this theory to Kevin Bacon. Rules are simple… connect other actors to Kevin Bacon through no more than five other connections – sixth being the person (should you reach that high a number). This is even more fun, for the game becomes movie trivia.
So, now that you have the rundown on the Six Degrees, here’s something that I found… The Oracle of Bacon. The Oracle was created by students at the University of Virginia. It uses the IMDB (Internet Move Database) to search for the Degrees of Bacon. Pretty awesome toy…
Kevin Pollak
I think it was like last week, or something like that, when Christopher Walken and Kevin Pollak’s impression of him entered into the topic of discussion, while I was riding along with Shandra, on our way to school. I’ve been trying to search for an audio clip of Kevin’s bit from the Bob & Tom Show. I haven’t found one.
I have, however, found this video clip from the Late Show…
Horoscope for 14AUG07 from Tarot.com
It may be quite difficult to stay focused on your current work today, for your mind is traveling to distant lands. You don’t need an airplane ticket to visit faraway places now; you can go there within your mind. Make sufficient time to do some metaphysical journeying now — in your imagination or in the real world — but remember to meet your obligations before you slip away.
Post for the heck of it…
So, I haven’t posted much here in a while, so I thought I’d post something… This is it… Nice, huh?
But, seriously folks…
I messed around with my Facebook profile… just for giggles… mainly to give Diana something to do… but, hey, anyone’s welcome to go over there and check it out… I left a nifty little “badge” on the MySpace profile – just click on it…
Other than that, i dunno… Been blogging more on LJ… why not stop by over there, and read up on what i’m doing and thinking… there’s quite a bit going on… feel free to read up on it…
Old Journals…
It’s amazing what you’ll find when you start going through a pile, box, crate, etc. of old papers and documents…
Example… I found a letter that I wrote to Taron, while he was still in the womb… I had done this many times, but have only found evidence of this one…

Letter to My Little One,
Mommy’s not feeling well today, and hasn’t since yesterday morning. I am so worried for the both of you. I am so afraid that something is going to happen. Perhaps I should tell you what’s going on, and why I am so worried.
Yesterday morning, mommy awoke with neck and back pain. She had tried to have me help make her neck feel better, earlier, but I was to sleepy to stay awake and help her. The strong woman that she is, made it through the rest of the morning before I awoke. Later she told me with tears in her eyes about how much she hurt. I tried to help, and hope that I have.
Today, Mommy was still in pain, and got a little scare when she found something that might mean trouble. We rushed to the doctor when she got back home from her mommy’s. The nice nurses and doctor told mommy not to worry, and be careful, and to tell them if she needs anything else.
So Mommy is OK now, but she still hurts a little.
I am just scared. I want Mommy and you to both be OK. I don’t want anything bad to happen to either of you. I hope that you come home safely, out here with Mommy and me in four months. I can’t wait to see you. I want to hold you with Mommy, and know that everything will be okay. I love you both so much.
Lovingly Yours,
Daddy
Yeah, Diana was feeling terrible during that period… She had a lot of muscle aches, cramps, and she spotted a bit… we were terrified…
I found another writing of mine, on an old notepad… It dates back to high school…
Yesterday morning, (and I do mean MORNING) something happened that totally blew my mind. Robert, temporarily, went off the deep-end. We (Robert, Chris, Eric C., Jamie S., ByRon, Annie & myself) were at ByRon & Annie’s having our own Independence Day party (which started about 45 minutes before our nation’s b-day was over). For once I saw Robert only on a good buzz from drinking & Chris totally blitzed. Usually its the other way around. It was great, but it soon changed. Robert and I were sitting outside, talking, and the drunks came out. We ignored them and continued talking. Robert had said that he liked buzzing rather than getting drunk, and said that he was an idiot for getting DRUNK like he usually does. He saw how Chris was acting and asked if he acted the same way that Chris was. I told him that that was exactly how he was when he got drunk. He seemed to be a bit embarrassed by this, but the moment passed.
He spoke of the time that he drank and only got a buzz. It was the party that caused him to lose Tracy.
He had given Shandra false directions to his house, so as they wouldn’t show up to take him to the party. He didn’t want to go. They somehow found their way and showed up anyway. When he went out to the truck, he knew something was up. He found that he was the third, and last guy out of six party-goers. He was being set up. Because of this he didn’t get DRUNK because he thought something (like intercourse) might happen if the third girl tried to take advantage of him. The girl did anyway, by giving him a hand-job. Shandra told one of Tracy’s friends, which, in turn, told Tracy. This had been planned. Danielle (the girl who played with Robert) wanted him and Shandra went along with it. Had I have been there, things would’ve went differently. I should’ve been there. I was invited. I didn’t go though, because Robert said that he wasn’t gonna go. I still considered going, but changed my mind because I was told who was gonna be there. I knew that without Robert the group would be an even number of 6, 3 guys & 3 girls, if I went. I should’ve went. Robert & Tracy would still be a couple. I wouldn’t have let this happen.
Anyway, after Robert told me the truth of the matter, the drunks started running around outside. The on who really caused trouble was Chris. We chased him down and got him back inside. However, in our running, the buzz started to increase, and was coming close to drunkenness. Robert started having difficulties in slowing his system back down. Things calmed back down for maybe five minutes, and started all over again. I left Robert outside, telling him to slow his breathing, to to try and cool off. After the second round of chasing drunks had calmed back down, I went back outside to find Robert.
I found Robert, by the shed, beating himself upside his head, with a beer bottle. He was beating himself up because of what he had done to Tracy.
I tried to get him to stop. I tried to talk to him. I was failing. I managed to roll him on his stomach, and grabbed his arms, and hold them behind his back. We laid there in the grass; him still verbally abusing himself, and my arms locking his behind his back. Eric came out looking for us. His buzz was killed when he discovered that I had pinned Robert, in order to keep him from killing himself. Then everyone else came out. And my memory starts to blur.
Robert gets up, and heads to the house, and we follow, and Annie starts arguing with us. And Eric starts to talk to Robert, to calm him down, and Robert wants a smoke, and I tell Jamie to give him one, and Robert wants a drink, and I pour him one, and I tell Eric to come outside with me, and I tell Eric that he was doing a good job of talking Robert back down, and I collapse on the ground not to far from ByRon, and Robert and Annie come out, and Robert’s been crying – but looks better than he was, and Eric apologizes to Annie for arguing, and I do the same, and we pick up ByRon to bring him back inside, and….
Now I draw a blank. I remember something about ByRon puking up watermelon & gummy bears. I remember all of us trying to get some sleep. Even parts of this morning are fuzzy. When I start remembering things clearly is when I saw Robert fixing refried beans.
Anyway, that’s all I want to say for now. It’s late, and I am tired. I will continue tomorrow.

From what I have heard, there’s a totally different account of what happened at that party Rob went to… Shandra would have to tell you that… Personally, I’d believe Shandra’s version…
Another journal entry follows:
It’s been 2 days since I wrote. The topics have changed a little. But, I’ll go ahead and touch on those topics.
Coffeehouse & Brianne
Brianne Skidmore works there.
I may have to stop by more often.

And another…
Chris still loves Evan. At Coney Island (the sappiest place on earth) he said that he kept “seeing” her. He asked me about Josh & Evan. He comments on Josh & Evan. He left Dark side of the Moon in the car – inside the case were 2 pics of him and Evan @ prom.

Later that day…
Thinking about movie me & Chris discussed making. Should go ahead and get started. ‘Bout a month till school starts again and Chris will be busy with that, and Rob will be headed to college.
Friends headed for college and I’m not. Don’t even have a job yet. Need a job. Need to keep in touch with friends. Maybe when Rob heads for college I’ll start hanging with Chris and his friends. It’ll give me something to do.

Um… I like x’d out the numbers for this post… Amazing… I had digits, and never did a thing with them…
And there’s some more random writing, mainly scribbles and drawings – stuff that text just can’t capture…
Well, I’d better get back to housework…

I am tired… and unmotivated… don’t want to do anything just yet… just wanna sleep…. coffee ain’t workin’….
and I have so much crap to do….
146
So, I just ate another Banquet Homestyle Bake… Pizza Pasta… I actually like that one, although I know that I could do better… Hell, anyone can for that matter… take some pasta, through over it some sauce, and toss in some pepperoni… but why stop there? add some mushrooms, peppers, sausage… go nuts…
so, let’s go find that box, and see how much salt i just took in…
well, crap… can’t do that… i made the sucker before leaving this evening… and when i am finished with a box, i tear it up (so it fits in the garbage can, and doesn’t take up that much room)… I also took the trash out before i left… crap…
I’m still hungry…
have this void that needs filled…
hmmm…..
oh well… guess i’ll have a cigarette…

In other news, Jack White and Karen Elson are the proud parents of a baby boy – Henry Lee White… the baby was born yesterday… I only mention this because Diana left a browser open… entertainment news… I don’t know whether she left that open for me to read, or was just absent minded…
Coincidently, I had the privilege to rocking out to Icky Thump on the way home – the song, not the album… I was listening to the radio…
Another interesting thing is that I just left a red-head to head home….
—–
I rode in with Shandra to class this evening, which is, I guess, a habit… I got to ride home with her… a first… was rather fun… learned all sorts of things… like I never knew that the farm across from Cynthiana Hall was named Corinthia… there’s some history there that I don’t know about… I want to research why those farms were named after (distant, but) neighboring cities – Cynthiana and Corinth…
I also learned that her dad was into ghosthunting… Which made me remember a book that I had bought when I had lived with Sam… It was an Idiot’s Guide to Ghosthunting… I accidentally left the book behind when I moved out… I think I had also left behind a few tape recorders, cameras, and a video camera… Wish I hadn’t… I also left behind a few videos that I really wish I hadn’t….

The house is all quiet… just a tinkle every so often from Skinny’s collar… I think he’s prowling because I am awake…

I have a lot of housework to catch up on tomorrow…
