…SEVERE SQUALL LINE EXPECTED THIS EVENING…
AS THE ATMOSPHERE BECOMES WARM AND UNSTABLE TODAY SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS MAY DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON. THE BEST CHANCES FOR
STORMS THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE ALONG AND WEST OF INTERSTATE 65.
LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS AND HEAVY RAIN WILL BE THE MAIN THREATS FROM
THESE INITIAL STORMS.
THIS EVENING A POWERFUL SQUALL LINE IS FORECAST TO PUSH ACROSS
SOUTHERN INDIANA AND CENTRAL KENTUCKY. THE LINE SHOULD REACH
DUBOIS COUNTY AROUND 8 PM EDT…THE INTERSTATE 65 CORRIDOR A
COUPLE HOURS LATER…AND THE BLUE GRASS AROUND MIDNIGHT. DAMAGING
WINDS WILL BE THE MAIN THREAT WITH THIS LINE OF STORMS. A FEW
TORNADOES WILL BE POSSIBLE AS WELL…ESPECIALLY IN SOUTHERN
INDIANA BETWEEN 8 PM AND 11PM. TORRENTIAL RAINS CAN BE EXPECTED AS
WELL. LARGE HAIL WILL NOT BE AS MUCH OF A THREAT BUT ISOLATED
INSTANCES OF SEVERE HAIL CANNOT BE RULED OUT.
