I have zero interest in going to work. As usual. I guess.
Ashlee is on her way home from a night with her sisters. I guess I’m happy for her. I dunno. Mixed feelings.
The kids were up before they were supposed to be. Guess I’m hiding remotes again.
I’m feeling kinda useless.
Did a bit of work yesterday, but feel like it was wasted, as nothing came of it. The Sebring is dead, and is about to be sold for scrap; that’s the wasted work I did. Finally tore into the bottom and measured things; numbers are all over the place, so she’d need too much work and money out of us. Her body ain’t in the greatest condition anymore to justify that work, either. Maybe she’ll find life as parts for someone else, but I doubt it.
My back hurts.
I’m kinda glad I did the work I did on that car. Now I can stop thinking about it, and not have it on that list of crap I need to do. Instead, I’m probably gonna start thinking about my Durango and what I can try next on getting it repaired. I can’t remember where I was on it, other than needing another hundred bucks worth of transmission fluid.
Honestly, I think I should probably give up on that thing, too. I dunno. Maybe I’ll surprise myself and figure out what its problem is. That’d be nice, because I’m growing more concerned about driving the pickup as much as I am.

Don’t have any time to do a WordPress post this morning; I’m in at work at 8a instead of 9a.
Thought I had a few more minutes to do something, but had to throw together a roast in the crock. Not a complaint; looks like one, but isn’t. I just thought our menu/work timeline was running differently this week.
Store takes inventory Wednesday.
I need to find my travel mug. I keep taking coffee mugs out to the truck and leaving them.
Well, reckon it’s time to go.

I’ve been in retail way too long. I read a really short, nothing of an article which spoke about someone who bought a bunch of seeds from a Dollar Tree for pennies; later, the grateful customer brought the store manager some vegetables that were grown from those seeds. It’s a nice little story, I guess, however my unfortunate first impression was that the manager broke the rules.

“Pennied” items aren’t supposed to be sold, but destroyed and tossed out, as the company has written those items off as a loss, and the penny sale value assigned to the items are a placeholder in the books, not an actual price. Further, I’m not sure it’s necessarily true in this case–though it might be–but various items, such as seed packets, are not inventory owned by the store or company, but items that are sold on consignment; it is very possible that the manager technically cost the company additional money by selling the seeds–assuming they were rang through the register by the UPC and not manually keyed as something untraceable.

Do I really care? No. Really, my feelings on the situation are, great for the customer, and awesome to hear the seeds were used rather than tossed in the trash. I just hate that my mind went to the stupid business side of things–and that’s the point behind me writing about it.

I dunno.

I hate retail.
