I’d swear I had more time to sit and write, but I guess a quick review of morning emails sucks up more time than I thought.

I’m tired. Just one more day of work this week. Then maybe I can rest, and maybe–just maybe–I can get to some of the crap I need/want to do around the house.

The house is quiet, right now. Thankfully, not silent, because I’m one of those that hates deafening silence. There’s the background noise of a few fans, the coffeepot finishing up it’s brew, the cat cleaning herself, the fridge cooling. Nice quiet little background noises that kind of help give a comforting touch.

The date for “There Will Come Soft Rains” was a few days ago. A kind of broken and out of place thought, but it’s my somewhat usual nonsensical morning post, so a random detached thought is expected, I guess.

I got to bed a little bit earlier than I have been, but still not quite early enough, I suppose, as I missed my first hour of alarms. I’ve only got a week to straighten that out. I need to be getting up and bouncing kids out of bed for school by the end of next week. Then, I’ll have more time to write, again, and maybe time in the morning to do quick bits of housework.

I really don’t want to go work, today. Ah, see, there it is, the words you were waiting to read. I’d thought about calling in today, but realized that my bucket of hours isn’t quite as full as I had hoped it was. I need to save the time for unexpected things related to the kids and the school year.

Kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty; touch it. That damned verse and that damned song has been stuck in my head for over a week.

Well, I guess it’s time to swallow one last cup of coffee and head to work.

Barely have a few minutes this morning to write anything. I really can’t say that I awoke late, but I did, once again, wake later than I really wanted to. I had just enough time to get up, throw together a roast for the crock, grab a stupidly quick shower, dress, and then sit here.

And now the clock is saying that I should get my feet out the door.

Yep. Not enough time. But I’d like to sit a few more minutes and actually half-way enjoy a lousy cup of coffee before I go, so, blah. I defy you, clock.

Pork roast, by the way. Hopefully it’ll make this evening go a bit smoother and be an awesome time saver for Ashlee. I’m sure she wasn’t all that thrilled about me just grabbing stuff and throwing it in the cart last shopping trip, but I just can’t stand how tired she’s been, so I figured maybe I could take at least one additional meal off her plate even though I’m still going to be at work.

Well, the clock is screaming at me, and my cup is almost empty. Guess it’s time to go.

Yay.

I thought I might’ve discovered a fault that was causing my server to lock-up on occasion, but apparently I haven’t. No, it’s just worn out, I guess. Meanwhile, it looks like I got the Instagram plugin working again. I’ve no idea what was wrong there, as just a re-installation seems to have fixed it.

I can hardly wait for school to be back in session. I’m hopeful that returning to school will help to wear the kids down a bit. Sadly, I expect that, no, it’ll just be them wearing out teachers.

I need a vacation.

I’m up and moving around a little later than I hoped, but I still managed to get up at a decent hour–with the help of Ashlee, to be honest. Ashlee called me this morning while she was at work, to inform me I had an opportunity to go to work today. Apparently the plan today for extra freight involved purging the home trailers; and then they realized that I wasn’t on the schedule today. Oops. So, I was offered the chance to come in, and I said I’d rather have the extra day off.
I’m still not quite sure how I’ll spend today, but I know I’ll use it to my advantage, somehow–even if it ends up being a somewhat lazy day.

I don’t wanna go to work.
Yeah, same old story. I’d rather goof off at home. Not necessarily saying I’d be goofing off, though; I’d more likely find something I need to do around the house, like fixing this, or cleaning that.
Ugh.
I need a vacation.

It’s been a little bit since I’ve written anything.
Been a little busy.
Replaced the whole house water filter with a new unit.
Repaired the washer twice because rust blew through the lines and blocked the cold water valve.
Put new blades on the mower.
Nivea started work yesterday.
It’s just been a little too hectic to find time to sit and write anything.

I dunno.
If I had friends, when would I even get a chance to talk or spend time with them? Way too much of my time is taken up by work and home. And I don’t even get enough time to spend on home stuff as it is.
The last morning of the frozen reset, Dallas asked me about my hobbies. I pretty much gave the same answer I’ve given everyone for the past twenty years; that I really don’t have any hobbies anymore. I don’t have time for hobbies.
I dunno.
